Figure Wishlist - Nendoroid Gudako

Hello everyone and welcome back to another Figure Wishlist on Tiro Finale. Today, we will be taking a look at a rather odd addition to my wishlist in the form of Nendoroid Gudako. Judging from the popularity of the Fate Series and the Fate/Grand Order (FGO) mobile game as of late, I am sure many of you readers would be familiar with the main female protagonist from the wildly popular mobile game. 

Officially named Ritsuka Fujimaru, she is the playable female protagonist in FGO and is better known by fans by her nickname, Gudako. Before we move on with the wishlist any further, I first ought to clarify my stance on the series. Despite being fairly well versed with the Fate Series, I cannot consider myself to be a big fan of the series. Moreover, I do not play the FGO mobile games either, even after the English version had been released worldwide. 

But what I have done, is read the incredibly well written Learning with Manga series for FGO. Like many others, I too have quickly taken a liking towards Gudako's borderline insane personality which serves to mirror hardcore players of mobile games with a gacha (lottery) element to it. and that just serves to make Gudako all the more interesting compared to all the other characters in the series. This is further accentuated by the comical deformed-style illustrations by Ryo for the manga. 

Gudako's charm is almost universal regardless of whether or not you are a fan of the Fate series and that has allowed her to transcend all genres, elevating her to a higher status. How high you may ask? For starters, the original Gudako released in 2017 was sold for only 4,167 Yen. First at the Winter Wonder Festival 2017 and later by Good Smile's Online Shop. Yet, the demand for Gudako has only continued to grow with the rising popularity of FGO. These days, you would be lucky to even find an unopened Nendoroid Gudako going for less than 10,000 Yen and this is in Japan! Overseas, she is an even harder find!

Unless you are willing to pay an unreasonable sum of money for Nendoroid Gudako, are you, like me, consigned to an eternity of helplessness then? Not exactly, as there is a very real possibility that Good Smile Company would re-release Gudako as they have been doing with more popular Nendoroid(s) as of late. When that will happen is anybody's guess but, I am putting my money on something closer to FGO's next anniversary celebration.

In the meantime, all we have to do is patiently wait. And if that day (for the re-release) never comes, well, we are all know what it feels like when Gudako goes through her gacha hell.
