SIF Coverage: Score Match Round 18

Well rested? I hope you are because SIF's latest event, Score Match Round 18 has finally begun. The last Score Match event, centered on Umi, this time around for Round 18, we have the rice-loving Hanayo making taking the center stage. This time, the Detective-themed event will run from the 4th till the 13th of May; only ten days this time instead of the usual eleven. 

For those new to SIF and are wondering what is "Score Match", put simply it is the PvP (player versus player) equivalent-event. To participate in it, all you have to do is:

1. Join Score Matches
2. Enter Matchmaking Lobby - with up to 3 other players
3. Play the Event Song/Live - randomly selected
4. Results Revealed - the player with the highest score takes first place and so on
5. Earn Event Points - earn bonus multipliers by scoring higher (S Rank, etc.) and placing higher (1st place, etc.)
6. Earn Event Rewards
7. Repeats Steps 1-6

Rest assured, you will be matched up against equal competitors ensuring a fair competition. Although, there are the occasional oddballs which end up decimating the entire lobby.

Throughout the event, you will be collecting event points and each one puts you closer towards each subsequent reward milestone. The rewards along the way include, Gold, Friend Points, Love Gems and even new members. Reach 25,000 Event Points and you will be rewarded with the event's SR Detective Hanayo (shown in the picture above).

Of course, there are also rewards for ranking highly among all the other players. The Top 1000 players qualify for Tier 1 and the Top 5000 qualify for Tier 2. As always, the goal of tiering is to obtain an extra copy of the event's SR allowing for idolization. While Tier 1 requires a lot of time, effort and Love Gems, Tier 2 is much more achievable with a larger margin from 1000-5000th position. Nevertheless, this can also result in some really stiff competition especially if the card is very popular.

For this event, I predict things to be rather civilized with Tier 2 only requiring a modest Love Gem investment. Nevertheless, these thing can be rather unpredictable and the demand for Rice-Goddess may suddenly shift into overdrive. Who knows?
