Tokyo Days 48 - Wonder Festival Summer 2016 Tickets

Held twice a year, Winter and Summer, Wonder Festival is hands down the biggest anime and figure convention event in Japan, if not, the whole world. Unique to this event is that the tickets are not actually tickets in the traditional sense. Rather, it is a magazine which can be bought beforehand from bookstores all around Japan. Of course, the highest density of tickets are sold in Tokyo but, they are available in many book stores all around Japan. The sales and full list of book stores is usually put up on Wonder Festival's website (in Japanese) 2 weeks before the event begins. If you have trouble, Google Translate works just fine to help you find the most convenient book store for you. In my case, I headed over to the one of the Book Express chains in the Ueno JR Station.

A short bit of searching later and there it was! The unmistakable cover of Wonder Festival 2016. Never fret as availability is always abundant even with mere days before the start of the event. If you fail to get yours prior to the event, you can still purchase it on the day of the event too. Prices this year has gone up to 2,500 Yen over the previous 2,000 Yen admission fee in 2015.
