The Tiro Finale Shopping List

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Monogatari Thursdays. Following last week's announcement of the Nisio Isin Exhibition followed by a slurry of exclusive merchandise announced for the event, you can be sure the Tiro Finale team was stirring with excitement. Key of which was takuya, who as we know by now, is a very big fan of the series. Truthfully, all of us here at Tiro Finale are, to some degree or another, fans of the series. 

Having the opportunity to attend the Nisio Isin Exhibition would also be a once in a lifetime opportunity which, unfortunately, takuya, would be missing out on. Fortunately, I would be attending the event and part of my responsibility now lies in me to ferry these exclusive merchandise back safely to takuya. So, what merchandise would a big fan of the series with a limited budget go for? After some deliberation and discussion, we finally came up with the best choices of exclusive merchandise from the upcoming Nisio Isin Exhibition. 

First up, is one that I believe all of us can agree is an absolute steal in its own right; Nendoroid Shinobu Nision Isin Exhibition Exclusive Version. This Nendoroid of Oshino Shinobu comes bundled with an acrylic stand of Shinobu in her black dress which comes exclusive to the event all for the low price of 6,480 Yen. Some simple research would inform you that a standard Nendoroid Shinobu costs 5,980 Yen at release. But, that was exactly it, the release price. These days Shinobu fetches north of 10,000 Yen in the re-sellers market especially since she has long gone out of production. With the introduction of this exclusive Nendoroid Shinobu and at a lower price, it is almost a no-brainer when it comes to getting her. In fact, I might even want to get one.

Next up on the list is something that looks rather familiar but, different at the same time. If you are involved with the Monogatari Series of merchandise, plush toys of Shinobu or Kiss-shot may not look all too foreign. But look again, do more research on the net and you will find that there is indeed no existing plush of Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade of Shinobu in Senjougahara's uniform. Which is what makes these plush dolls all the more valuable. 

Being an exclusive release for the event, Kiss-Shot costs 4,320 Yen while, Shinobu costs 4,104 Yen. There is no doubt that these plush dolls are not the value proposition that Nendoroid Shinobu is but, to be honest, few merchandise from the series actually had good value for money to begin with. In fact, judging from the way plush toys/dolls seem to appreciate so rapidly in price in the re-sellers market these days, getting them may not be such a bad idea. Investment or not, we foresee these exclusive plush dolls holding a strong premium when the event is done and dusted. 

The next item on the list is a personal recommendation from one of our main writers, Lance. These Monogatari Series Acrylic Trading Straps are certainly unique in their own right and with 12 designs available, there is one character for every fan. Do you fancy yourself to be a gambling kind of person? Then, these trading straps will be the right game for you as they will likely come in the form of a blind box. At 540 Yen each, things will certainly be interesting!

The next item on the shopping list has nothing to do with the Monogatari Series much less the Nisio Isin Exhibition. Rather, it would be a good opportunity to talk a little on the upcoming Ichiban Kuji Love Live Sunshine -3rd- lottery that will begin on the 29th of July. Each ticket will go for 680 Yen and things promise to be rather interesting with this Kuji. 

For starters, this will be the first Sunshine Kuji to feature pillows as the main prizes. Prize A till I will all be character cushions featuring all nine members of Aquors. Dressed in their outfits from the Mijuku Dreamer, each cushion will measure 45cm which makes the top nine prizes very lucrative indeed. As such, your dedicated Tokyo runner has  been entrusted with playing three tickets from this lottery.
