Nesoberi Tanya Degurechaff Review: Part 2
Hello everyone and welcome back for another Nesoberi review on Tiro Finale! Today, we will be taking a look at yet another Nesoberi Tanya Degurechaff as part of our Tanya Trilogy. The aim is to completely review all three variants of Sega's Nesoberi Tanya Degurechaff and give you a better insight into each one. The first part of this three part series covered the "normal" Tanya and, today, we will be taking a look at the "God-like" Tanya. Without further ado, let us jump straight into the review!
At first glance, the most noticeable difference between this Tanya and the other variants are her golden eyes and expression. If you are familiar with the series, you would be aware that Tanya's eyes turn golden when she prays to "God" to case devastating spells in battle.
Tanya is not particularly keen on praying as it muddies up her memories
each time and this Nesoberi's expression is sure to acknowledge Tanya's
feelings as well. Bu, in this case, Tanya's expression comes off as being more cute than disgruntled which is most certainly a plus.
Together with her complex hair arrangement, Tanya's hair would not be complete without her cowlick and fluffy ponytail. Complementing these features is the pink elastic band which allows Tanya to be hung up.
Tanya's ponytail is comically large and has a tendency to lean towards one side due to its large size. The shape somehow reminds me of a rudder of a plane or boat. Maybe that is the reason Tanya is so maneuverable when flying?
As with all other normal sized Nesoberi, they measure approximately 15 cm from end to end. Tanya is no exception and the fact that she is a child to begin, just helps the overall proportions work that much better.
Perhaps Tanya is coming to the realization that she is a stuffed toy? |
Small size is no excuse for a lack of detail and Sega is not keen on making any excuses. Instead of rehashing the same outfit for each Nesoberi, Sega decided to dress the "God-like" Tanya in her mage outfit - the same one she wears when in the field of combat.
The Nesoberi team at Sega went to great lengths to replicate the mage outfit that Tanya and the rest Empire's Mage Division wears. Aside from the green overalls, there are the various harnesses, operation orb and the flight unit which have to be emulated.
Tanya's personal Elinium Type 95 Operation Orb is appropriately colored golden as Tanya is drawing the maximum magical power from her orb. In normal operations, the gem of the Type 95 would be red in color. By the way, the white border at the collar of her outfit is meant to emulate the fleece/fur of the mage's outfit! If that is not attention to detail, I do not know what is.
The flight unit of Empire mages are mounted on their hips and right boot which allows for aerial flight and combat. This feature is emulated with a strap connecting between the main flight unit (the red box with the cross on it) and Tanya's right boot.
Wrapping up the entire outfit are a pair of black gloves which Tanya wears while in combat.
Initially, I did not give too much thought about the detailing throughout Tanya's combat uniform. But upon comparing it to the source material, I am frankly amazed at the level of replication that Sega has managed to achieve.
Of the entire outfit, the only component of the outfit that was missing would be the four pouches located above the flight unit. An omission that I can completely understand owing to the lack of real estate on this 15 cm plush.
If there was one aspect that consistently impressed me with these "normal" sized Nesoberi Tanya(s) are the sheer amount of detail that they cram into these little plush toys. While I may not be the biggest fan of this size or proportion, I can certainly appreciate the thought and effort put into including as much details as possible within the limited amount of space. The fact that they can then be hung up in any location of your liking is just the icing on the cake.
