Nero Acrylic Stand

Hello everyone and welcome back to Tiro Finale! Today, we will be taking a look at a unique piece of merchandise from the Fate Series in the form of an acrylic stand. If the character before you looks familiar, that is because she is Nero Claudius aka Saber EXTRA. One of the earlier variations of the original Fate's Artoria Saber, Nero is the the main servant in the Fate/Extella series with quite a fan-base of her own. 

More recently, Nero has seen a surge in popularity owing to the extra spotlight from the Fate/Grand Order mobile game and the recently aired Fate/Extella anime series. Couple that with her forward personality and it is not hard to see why Nero is almost as popular as Artoria. This particular acrylic stand of Nero was released together with several other Saber variations as part of the Fate/Grand Order Ichiban Kuji.

The Kuji was available from May of 2017 with its primary draw being these acrylic stands. It may be hard to believe that an entire Kuji could consist just of acrylic stands of Saber variants but, there just happens to be that many out there. Each ticket cost just 574 Yen reflecting the simple nature of the prizes up for grabs. 

That is not to say that these acrylic stands have no value either as some of the more prominent characters, such as Nero here, have since gone up in price in the re-seller's market ever since the Kuji ended. Part of this could be attributed to the illustration used which is quite a popular piece of artwork for the Fate/Grand Order series depicting the Master (Gudao/Gudako) lounging in the sun with several other servants. Ever since then, variations of that artwork has since been released and have been very well received by the fans. As such, if you do manage to find one at a good price (~600 Yen), I would recommend purchasing it.

While they may serve no everyday practical applications, these acrylic stands are still a very compelling item to purchase especially since they make such good tabletop decorations. This factor is compounded more so if it happens to be your favorite character. Moreover, acrylic is very easy to clean as you can simple wash it without having to worry about dust. Light and simple, these acrylic stands are a surefire way of brightening up your tabletop without burning a hole into your wallet.
