Sega's Magia Record Campaign

Hello everyone and welcome back to Tiro Finale for some good old Madoka Magica content. Ever since its release in the third quarter of 2017, the Madoka Magica mobile game Magica Record (or Magireco for short) has gained a lot of popularity in and outside of Japan. Keen to take advantage of the growing popularity of the game, Sega has decided to carry out a special Magia Record campaign in all their participating arcades.

The campaign period lasts from the 3rd of March up to the 8th of April, or roughly a month. Like every other Sega arcade campaign, the event promotes both spending at the arcade and the mobile game. For every 500 Yen spent, players are eligible to collect one clear file as a free present. Moreover, there are unique designs for each of the clear files featuring all of the main magical girls in the series. In fact, Sega is so serious about the campaign that they even have English translations for it!

Everywehre you look around their flagship arcades in Akihabara, you are sure not to miss mention of the Magia Record campaign. Unique to the campaign is a series of original illustrations featuring Homura, Madoka, Iroha and Yachiyo.

You know Sega is serious about promoting the campaign with the large tapestry regarding the campaign hung outside the arcade.

Every where you look, you were bound to see some poster or promotional material mentioning the campaign. Prior to the launch of the clear file campaign, Sega even had a collaboration cafe based on Magia Record and the unique maid illustrations.

All over the arcade, you could find tapestries with the full illustration of the four featured magical girls. Homura in her clumsy maid form.

Yachiyo in her typical calm, collected manner.

And Iroha and Madoka placed side by side.

These four magical girls were the featured clear files of the campaign featuring this original illustration. The clear files featuring the other magical girls used their standard design without the special maid theme going on with this special campaign. While it would have been nice to see Sega expand the lineup to feature the other girls, their decision remains fairly understandable considering this is one of their first original Magia Record campaigns.

In time, I am sure these tapestries would be made available as an arcade prize too. In the meantime, customers and passer-byes are more than welcome to admire these tapestries. Rest assured, this will not be the first and last of the Magia Record campaigns with new merchandise undoubtedly on the way. This gives great hope to Madoka Magica fans for the continued support of their favorite series. With that, we come to the end of this special arcade campaign coverage. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them. Until the next time, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
