Early November Haul

Hello everyone and welcome back to Tiro Finale for another haul post. It is hard to believe the last time we did one of these (haul posts) was back in February of this year! Meaning a whole 8 months has elapsed since I last got anything hobby-related! It is shocking to there was ever such a long gap but, fret not as today's extra large parcel from Mandarake should more than suffice in making up for the vacancy left from the past few months.

Before we dive into the contents, let us take a quick peek into one of the largest cardboard box sizes that Mandarake has to offer. This particular shipment came straight from Mandarake's Sahra warehouse in Chiba. Aside from the copious amounts of bubble wrap, Mandarake's staff also made sure to pack the remaining empty space with paper (not pictured here).

The most obvious content visible is, of course, Alter's very own Minami Kotori figure. Perhaps one of the more sought after Love Live premium figures in the re-seller's market, Alter's Kotori still fetches a very high resale value despite her being re-released by Alter a while back. With a winning combination of a fan favorite outfit from the mobile game, School Idol Festival, and top notch figure-making from Alter, it is no surprise that this figure still remains relevant after all these years.

This particular used example, in a very good condition box, cost 9,000 Yen. Normally, a mint unopened Alter Minami Kotori can expect to fetch north of 18,000 Yen and that is in Japan, where the prices are often lower compared to foreign markets. Undoubtedly a good deal at 9,000 Yen, this prized figure will soon find its way into the collection of, Lance, one of our main writers here on Tiro Finale.

The second and last figure on the list is Kotobukiya's Senjougahara Hitagi sporting her winter uniform outfit from the Koyomimonogatari Arc of the Monogatari Series. Just like Kotori, this Senjougahara figure will be finding its way into the collection of one of our fellow writers here on Tiro Finale too, Takuya. But unlike the earlier piece, this is actually Takuya's birthday present for the year having arrived just in time before the faithful date.

Listed at 6,500 Yen, for a mint unopened example no less, I was a little apprehensive about getting this particular Senjougahara figure as Mandarake's site had listed her as having moderate box damage. Having seen Kotobukiya's Senjougahara command prices around 10,000-12,000 Yen in retail, I was a little worried that the significant price cuts offered by Mandarake were due to some serious box damage. Fortunately, when the figure arrived, I was glad to find out the box damage was hardly appreciable and limited to the corner edges of the box. What a relief!

Two premium figures with a street value of roughly 30,000 Yen combined, here for just half the amount. It just goes to show the importance of putting in due diligence and research before making any purchases. With these two wonderful pieces being delivered to their respectful owners, hopefully it is only a matter of time before we see a write up on them on the blog.

With the hard stuff out of the way, it was time to introduce the biggest member of the haul, Sega's Mega Jumbo Nesoberi Honoka Snowhalation Version! Yes, the recently released Snowhalation Nesoberi(s) have finally found their way into my collection beginning with Honoka.

What better way to continued my collection of Nesoberi(s) with the hyper-enthusiastic Honoka? At just 1,500 Yen, I can hardly think of better ways to lift my spirits than looking at Honoka's "go-get-em" expression. Rest assured, other members of Muse will be joining shortly as the Snowhalation outfits is one of my personal favorites. Already I have my eyes on Rin, Eli and Nozomi but, who knows? Perhaps I will end up getting all 9?

Another plush in this haul is a stowaway designated for Takuya's collection. Can you guess who this is? The straw hat may already give it away despite this little vampire being too lazy to show her face in broad daylight.

Even from behind, she refuses to show her face. But, I am sure you already know who this donut-loving child vampire is, right? Make sure to stay tuned to Takuya's coverage of the ever growing plush collection of his.

Taking advantage of the combined shipping, I also decided to get a few Mami trinkets and accessories. These include, a new Magia Record Mami clear file, a rubber strap, sticker and mini trading figure. I will be doing a more in-depth coverage of this in my sub-haul post so, stay tuned for that in the future especially for the particularly rare Mami trading figure.

Lastly, we have a watch dating back to the mid-90s. Commemorating Tokyo Disneyland's 15th Anniversary was this special quartz wristwatch which was made in limited quantities. With the original papers included, this piece of Disney memorabilia is particularly collectable among both Disney fans and watch enthusiasts.

Combine those two fans and you have a piece which is certainly a very valuable collectable. This particular wristwatch is designated a birthday present to an elder sibling of mine who is both a fan of classic Disney and watches. What better gift then right?

Instead of calling it the early November haul, perhaps I should have named this haul, the Birthday Haul instead? Having just made the order a few days prior, I was more than appreciative of EMS' quick delivery making it in the nick of time for me. With the gifts distributed and wishes said, it was now time to focus on myself. In the coming weeks, I will be taking a closer look at each of the items I received for this month's haul. Hopefully, by the time we are done, we will be ready for yet another haul in the month of December! Until then, thank you so much for reading and have yourself a wonderful day ahead!
