Paris Games Week 2017

So, Paris Games Week 2017 just happened. It's not a major event like E3 but Sony did promise a few big things and they certainly delivered for the most part.

Firstly, Spider-Man got a new trailer that revealed many characters like Mary Jane and the Shocker. The trailer also focused on the more human side of the superhero, showing some gameplay sequences of Peter Parker and even Mary Jane at one point (?). The character models look a bit strange, I'm not going to lie. I'm not quite sold on that part but I am getting excited to play this game.

Next, The Last Of Us 2 had a new trailer too but it contained completely new characters in a completely unrelated story. No Ellie or Joel in sight; only raw brutality and female heroism. I'd like to see how this connects to the game (most are guessing it's a flashback). Also, that female with the hammer has some great muscle detail.

Horizon Zero Dawn's new DLC (Frozen Wilds) launches very soon and we're finally given more information about it. Apparently, it has 15 hours of new content with two new enemy types and a boatload of other mods, weapons and outfits. Also, we get a new branch in our skill tree! I definitely want to give it a go.

Ghost of Tsushima is Sucker Punch's new IP. It seems to be an open world, action adventure game placing you in the role of a samurai. The developers wanted to be as authentic as possible while still giving the player a fresh experience playing as a Japanese warrior. And if Ubisoft ain't going to Japan, I'm glad someone is.

Detroit: Become Human makes another appearance, this time showcasing yet another character you can play as and the choices you can make. Other games to lay down trailers also include the new God of War, Monster Hunter World and the FFXV Ignis DLC. These are simply the other big titles in the event.

There were a lot of other, smaller things shown like Onrush and Erica to name a few. VR games were getting a push during this event while big indie titles like Spelunky 2 also had a lot of time to shine.

I'm quite excited for what we have in store with PlayStation and things can only get better from here on out (I hope).
